Getting to campus, honestly

Rice University is a 3-minute drive away, or about 27 minutes on foot to the centre of campus. The walk brings you to the western edge of Rice's campus after 0.6 miles, about 15 minutes on mostly flat streets, and guests call it an easy walk. For tours at the Welcome Center, on the far side of campus, drive and park (about 7 minutes), and check Rice's visitor parking page for current rules. What you get here is a quiet, tree-lined street, free street parking right in front of the house, and Rice Village shops, groceries and pharmacies a 5-minute walk away, good for an evening stroll after dinner.

Stairs and getting around

The house has three levels and two interior staircases, and there is no lift. The entry level has two queen bedrooms, a full bathroom and the game room. One flight up, the kitchen, living room and king suite (with its own bathroom) share a floor, so once you are up, everything you need day to day is there. If stairs or luggage will be hard, message us before booking and we will tell you honestly whether it will work.

This is a pet-friendly home: one dog, up to 55 lbs, can stay with prior approval. A pet fee of $55 per night applies, up to a maximum of $300 per stay, with no deposit. For stays longer than 5 nights, message us before booking and we will send a direct quote with the cap applied. Service animals are always welcome.
